the Manifesto of Anti-social Social Games
Some time ago, if you were born, you would have had a king, or some other
person who ruled over you, whose power was absolute. There’s a good chance if this was the case then That would be it. You would have been a serf. And probably not a kingslayer + political evangelist serf. This is rather unfair. Hopefully you agree that what happens to us should be the result of what we do.This king thing is like one of those adventure games where it’s a straight path and the story only plays out the one way. Like Uncharted. See its fine to be told by the game to keep kicking ass as Nathan Drake. But if the game is Farm Wheat / Give Most of it Away -- that’s not a good life.So many of us today play a this new kind of Share > Follow game, made up by the folks who brought us social media.Their job was to connect-all-the-people (as quickly as possible). The winners of social media did this by rewarding us “users” for building our networks wide. They challenged us to peddle that part of ourselves with the shallowest appeal, to the broadest audience. This manifesto is a reminder that you probably have no king. That life is ruled by games we play. Remember to choose your own fantasy. At Newsprint we choose to ask:
Is there something more fun we could do instead?
We want to be the game you play when you're not playing any games.
So get off influencer simulator 2022.
We urge you to to start life
as a meme company.
